Abstract
The following pages attempt to briefly reconstruct the discursive and epistemic genesis of the concept of race, in relation to anthropological and cultural reflection, in order to underline how some features can be found in many authors and in different epochs, and to implicitly relate them to some contemporary public debate issues.
