Starting from some specific key-points that (should) characterise all handbooks, the essay deals with mainly three aspects: the structure of the Manuale and how it guides the reader in the discipline of philosophy of law both within and outside its canon; the use of exemplary figures aimed at contextualizng historically the problems and the relative choice of the themes to be discussed; the function not only illustrative but also explicative played by figures and exemplary themes, which allow to circulate a certain knowledge.
